Why I built this
I’m Matt, an Oklahoma hospitality professional and Food & Beverage Director. I built The Local Way because the best part of visiting a city is rarely the most obvious part.
It is the neighborhood restaurant someone recommends without hesitation. The story behind a familiar building. The tradition you would never know to search for. The place that makes you feel like you understood the city instead of simply passing through it.
The Local Way brings those recommendations together for Oklahoma City, Norman and nearby places worth the drive.
How places make the guide
I look for a real local connection, a reason to recommend the place and enough current information to plan a visit. Hours and menus change, so always check with the business first.
Independence matters
Businesses cannot buy a favorable write-up or a place on the guide. Clearly marked travel links may earn a commission, but they do not determine the editorial recommendations.
